There's a short clip on YouTube that quotes actress Beverly D'Angelo on seeing the Velvets at La Cave in autumn '68. The comment is apparently from a print interview, and is read by actors on the YT clip; and there's no attribution of where it's originally from. But it's neat anyway, and worth 47 seconds of your time to check out.

The YT description says the quote is from an article on Beverly D'Angelo The Cleveland Plain Dealer dated December 4th 2022. she was originally from Columbus

Any ideas why the Sunday show was so poorly attended?

Imagine seeing the VU in 1968 with only 42 other people in the audience!

Some of the Matrix shows in 69 were attended by less than 30 people apparently

I have seen some La Cave contract paperwork - for the 27th June to 2nd July 1967 engagement, they were paid $1400 to perform 3 shows per night.....
