New book on first VU LP just released !

I'll definitely be picking this up. I have the 33 1/3 Piper at the Gates of dawn and it's very well done. Did Norman Dolph give any info about the acetate he has or had that has the alternate, unused Scepter Studios versions of Heroin, Waiting for the Man and Venus in Furs?

Okay, something random because this thread unites years gone by and Paris 1919.

Does anyone who lived in the UK or visited in the early-to-mid 1970s remember Kenny Everett playing tracks from Paris 1919 on his Radio One early evening show? I seem to recall he said something like "I was in a psychedelic haze when all this lovely music came through".

Or did I dream it?

I don't think he had an early evening show on Radio One in the early-to-mid 1970s. According to Wikipedia he was on Radio One for part of 1973, starting in April, but it was a Sunday afternoon show 1pm to 3pm. He left Radio One and went to Capital Radio in late 1973 - I have vague memories of his show on Capital at that time.

Thanks, maybe he was a guest or unscheduled visitor on somebody else's show. Or maybe it didn't happen.
