i know this counts as weird in 2024, but i don't really enjoy listening to music on headphones. I listened to Sister Ray on my laptop, wasn't really impressed...

I found that 2023 remix both horrendous and pointless - I must be missing the point.

However, the 3 instrumental versions are a really great listening experience.

And this guy has more instrumentals from the first 2 lps:

I also really like Lady Godiva. Like you my copy was also one with the dinged corners. Glad I got one.

I like this person's remix of WLWH
Is it me, or are they using better extraction software than the Mo Light album uses?

Not really sure I like what he is doing in these remixes. Turn things up and emphasise them seems to be the main MO. I noticed some attempt to make The Gift instrumental stereo.

I saw another youtube channel where someone has gone through the '& Nico' album making instrumentals and separating out various instruments for solo tracks. Generally, forensic dissection of historical culture seem to be the order of the day now. But I did enjoy the Mo Tucker solo WLWH. Just a great idea.

Can be done by anybody now possessing the most basic audio skills, and for free - mvsep.com . Choose the necessary algorithm and feed your files on a daily basis. File should be less than 10 min and less than 100 Mb. It makes sense to register for more speedy treatment of your files.

The mashups - Guess I'm Falling In Love and New Age are great, I hadn't heard them until now.
Always wished Lou had sung New Age on Loaded, and that there was a studio vocal version of GIFIL, so these are very welcome.

The remixes however leave me cold. I generally object to 3rd parties revisiting the classics to "enhance" them - whether it's colorizing B&W photos or movies, or having a Giles Martin remix the Beatles.

Are the mash-ups you refer to on the same channel as these remixes?

I've noticed a couple of more recent attempts at Guess I'm Falling in Love, by other Youtube accounts but haven't checked them out because Barry Stock's older attempts are so good.

New Age is news to me though.
