Thanks

Lou was probably a fan of that band because like yo la tengo, they did their best to ape 3rd album-era VU as closely as possible

Thanks, enjoyed reading that. Seem to remember a massively abridged version appearing in Select at the time. I really like Luna, and it's nice to get Dean's insights - as an obvious huge fan it must've been a dream come true.

Amazing! Are there any photos of Lou in his white headband at the Paradiso show??

And quite the coincidence this week as my friends are doing a (self-deprecating) podcast about their home recordings of the early 90s and the latest episode has one track where they admit to trying to sound like Sterling Morrison and one where they try to sound like Dean Wareham!

I actually think they got closer to Sterling than they give themselves credit for (skip to 14:00 for the VU bit)

I have a photo with Lou and his headband. I have had problems posting photos here previously but if you remind me after Nov 12 this year, I will dig it out and post it on WeTransfer. Email me at velvetfan@aol.com after Nov 12 and it shall be done.
