History of Rock in 500 songs
Re: History of Rock in 500 songs
The first hour isn't on the Velvet Underground at all but really is a mind blowing listen all by itself.
My first VU exposure was to the Third album and to VU and I also love the 1969 live recordings, particularly "What Goes On" (not mentioned at all), still my favourite part of their career. This era is really rushed over. I had an inkling this would happen but the post-Cale era is covered really very fast.
Other than that no complaints whatsoever and I think anyone interested in music from the era, never mind the VU would love this.

Thanks I found it pretty interesting and I listened to most of it
He gets a few details wrong but those are minor things (apparently he's never actually listened to Sister Say all the way through or he'd know it's not 14 minutes long). Very thorough.
