Nice, something to look forward to. I Didn’t think the footage in the documentary was any different from the ’Making of an underground film’ tv special, but I haven’t compared shot by shot.

Came here to post the same thing! I also don't recall Venus In Furs (as opposed to the CBS footage) being in the doc, so it would be cool if that really is what's going to be included here. The original Heroin soundtrack would have to be too much to hope for...

The product description says that some of the art films that were featured in the film will be on the blu-ray in full length form. Including Piero Heliczer’s Venus in Furs (1965)

I'm starting to make my way through the "extras". We get much less of the VU in Piero's Venus in Furs than in Making of an Underground Film. There's just a few seconds with Cale in it. I couldn't make out anyone else from the band.

There's a nice Zoom-style meeting with Moe, Cale, Haynes and a Pitchfork journalist that was made after the film was released. Cale doesn't say it directly, but he implies that he knew Kill Your Sons (in its anti Vietnam War form) from his VU days.

I haven't made it through the other interviews yet. There are interviews with Jonathan Richman, May Woronov and Jonas Merkel.

There are only 3 Avant-garde films included, none of them by Andy Warhol (or Gerard Malanga/Billy Name):

- Award Presentation to Andy Warhol, Jonas Mekas 1964 (silent) 12:21
- Venus in Furs, Piero Heliczer, 1965 (silent) 21:20
- Walden: Diaries, Notes, And Sketches (excerpt), Jonas Mekas 1964-69 7:46

All in all, the Blu-ray contains
- The documentary with Dolby TrueHD 5.1+Atmos 24/48 and Dolby Digital 2.0 sound plus a Dolby Digital 2.0 commentary and subtitles
- Interviews with Jonas Mekas (2018) 20:12, Mary Woronov (2018) 13:35, Jonathan Richman (2018) 15:51 and the "Zoom call" with Moe, John Cale and the director (2021) 48:36.
- The trailer
- An interactive feature that identifies the excerpts of the films used in the documentary

https://www.criterion.com/faq#:~:text=O ... terion.com.

Looks like the answer it is not region free.
Our discs are encoded Region 1 for DVD and Region A* for Blu-ray as our rights are limited to the United States and Canada. 4K Ultra HD discs are region-free. We are unable to sell outside these territories on criterion.com.

We publish select Region B Blu-ray releases for the UK market that can be purchased at amazon.co.uk, hmv.com, and other retailers.

I have the UK version that is supposed to be Region 2/B and it works perfectly on my Region 2/B Blu-ray player but I don't know whether it's because it actually is region 2/B or Region free. There are several Blu-rays, especially music films and documentaries, that have region limits printed on the back cover but actually run fine on all players. I just don't know how to find out the region of a disc that works. If there's some kind of free software tool to check the region, let me know and I see what I can do to help.
