Spoiler alert : Despite its title "Linger On - The Velvet Underground, Legend, Truth, Interviews", the greater part of the interviews in the book are not about the VU but focus instead on rhe solo careers of Lou, John, Moe, etc.

Yes – it feels like the book's interviews with band members is at least 50% solo career material. But I remember that was the case with Julio's earlier book - Feed-back, too. The Sterling interviews at least are all VU era. I like the pictures. Nice printing on uncoated paper. Soft nostalgic feeling. The book has a proper stitched block construction which mean it opens up flat. Some nice photos of 70s Nico with her mediaeval fringe.

I noticed this, p60:

Sterling:

We were playing in a big place in Chicago. The Kinetic Circus.... It had a big sound room.... they made multi-tracks... So we had good tapes of that place, but then it burned down in one of those mafia fires.

I'm sure he means Kinetic Playground, which was April 1968. 'We had good tapes of that place'. So where are they?

(This was the venue where Cale sabotages a performance of Pale Blue Eyes by deliberately stepping on some loud squeeling effects box whilst Sterling solos. Maybe an early signal to Lou of Cale's neccessary future ejection. )
