Seeking info about the alleged 1st SOLO Lou bootleg - Live Stockholm 1974

Lou Reed - Live Stockholm 1974

I am looking for any information on this bootleg LP. I remember reading somewhere that it was the first solo Lou bootleg released anywhere, but other than that tidbit, and the fact that it may have been a pressing of 200 copies, is all I know!

Anyone have any clue what the story is behind it? I'm not looking for info about the show - I'm specifically looking for the story about this specific bootleg release.

It's an interesting question, can we really be sure this is the first solo Lou bootleg - the date of issue 1974 - is not confirmed. It could be that 'Blondes Have More Fun' was brought out very quickly and the production on Stockholm was slow, making Blondes the first solo boot? I do agree it's more likely that Stockholm is the first, but early bootleggers weren't great record keepers for obvious reasons so it may be we'll never know for sure. The fact there isn't a label mentioned on the record makes things even more difficult. The history of the 1st Velvet's boot 'Evil Mothers' is better documented because its on the Skydog label.

I thought it was the Rock 'N' Roll Animal which came out shortly after the gig and featured the audience version of the Amsterdam 1973 gig. This one seems to me to have first appeared on Stoned which released six "live in Stockholm" consecutively.
I don't know if we can trust Discogs for reliable information (I've never seen this disc for example reviewed in Hot Wacks) because listings are filled by unknown collectors.

I think that the 1st (Australian) issue of "Blondes" came out in 1975. I have no idea when the "Rock And Roll Animal" Amsterdam 73 boot came out though. The "Live Stockholm 1974" LP is listed in my (1980) copy of Hot Wax book VIII, but no date is given.

I think the only way to find out the truth is to make contact with the folks who originally issued it....

there seems to be no real consensus about the release date of "Live In Stockholm" on the Lou Reed in Sweden group (or how many copies were pressed). But I think you may be correct - it could well be the first Lou solo boot lp.

The DISCOGS images - which include the cover image above - are actually of MY copy. I grabbed it for a pittance on eBay many moons ago.

The only info I ever had on it was what's on Enrique's page.

So only the year is missing. I had been active in record collecting since 1969 and never saw this one. I bought the RNRA in 1976 but it was from the previous year. I still have the 1977 Stoned.

the info on Enrique's page is also incorrect: the short "interview" is not included on the "Green Cover" LP (but is on the Stoned issue).

I had never thought about the release date of the Amsterdam 73 "Rock And Roll Animal" LP. I didn't get my copy till the 1990s
