I can't help thinking that two things helped to keep it out of sight:
1. He attributed the song to Lou Reed
2. The image he used is exactly the same as has been used for the other known version of the same song elsewhere on youtube.

On the Hoffman forum where I sent Lurid’s original link, member ‘the pope ondine’ has made two suggestions that might explain the two main questions surrounding this recording in a very convincing way.
Assuming worked on Upbeat:
1. He recorded the mic and guitar channels direct from
the desk.
2. He originally put the clip up on youtube without knowing who it was, and only more recently did he edit the post, adding the title when he realised who it was.

Re: Guess I'm Falling In Love fake live version?
I know Lund Peterson's other youtube videos are all political, but, as I posted the other day, there is at least one musical video on youtube that he posted a comment on four years ago, and that was for The Munx, a band out of Cleveland in 1967 that have some slight connection to the Velvets. I also noticed from Olivier's site that The Munx played La Cave a few days before the Velvets' June 27 thru July 2 1967 stint there. It seems quite likely that The Velvets recorded their July 8 Upbeat appearance while in Cleveland at this time. All a bit tenuous I know, and could just be coincidence, but maybe it suggests a link that the poster has to that time and place.

Could you please post a link to the Hoffman forum discussion? I'd be very interested to read their views.iaredatsun wrote: ↑20 Apr 2021 07:49 On the Hoffman forum where I sent Lurid’s original link, member ‘the pope ondine’ has made two suggestions that might explain the two main questions surrounding this recording in a very convincing way.

Some of the surviving Upbeat eps are out on DVD aren't they? Do they include original credits?

I was thinking that Mr Peterson doesn't look old enough to have made that recording in 1967!

He could still have inherited the recording from the original source.
