So can we assume that the Bob Ragonis tape is a completely different tape but recorded on the same day or close to the same day as the 11-song Pickwick demo tape?

I know Ocean was recorded with Cale in May 1968. I do not know why it was not included in the Deluxe WlWh...

No VU live from 1966 to 1968 in audio or video, we must wait to see what Cale still own...

It's an odd one. The introductory text to the live tapes section specifically states that the earliest material is from 1966, while the list begins at Dec 1968. It could be that Lou's archive included material that has already been commercially exploited (Columbus 66 for example) and has not been listed for that reason. This would be inconsistent with the listing of studio material. The gaps in the catalogue numbers are interesting, but may mean nothing more than that they were used for other material in the archive. It could just be an error and tapes that should be there have been omitted. It could also mean that the list of 1966 to late 1968 tapes have been withheld for some more exciting reason.

For example he could have the 2 Gymnasium tapes. Also from 1967, this could mean the Upbeat shows are lost forever or weren't recorded. Are the Cale and Warhol archives now empty of unreleased things ? We still need the Colombus tape, like the Professor reels, copied direct from the master.

So, did he give all 66-68 material to UMG? That would explain why it is missing. But then why the date error in the overview? A typo?
And why did he keep the Dec '68 onwards material?

Could it be that they have not finished the archive write-up?

Let's hope, as you suggest that they are planning something and that the missing material is related to a deal with UMG. I do hope this is the case.

Would the administrator (sorry I forget his name) of the archive explain someone if he was approached directly? It seems that we need to know why this stuff is missing.

Another last thought – he did say that, before any material could be released, negotiations and licensing work had to be done with the concerned parties, and that that was in progress!

It seems the Pickwick song Put Your Money Down On The Tab, that was a known title but unconfirmed it Lou Reed was the main writer or just listed as a co-writer, is on the 11-song demo as 'Put Your Money Down'.
