First of all I want to say hello to all the other Velvet fans here as this is my first post in this forum I discovered several days ago (and I admit it: It's fantastic). I'm an Italian 20 years old big fan of VU (so you'll be sorry if I'll make some grammatical mistakes)
Anyway, as I really like the genre, I know there are a few documentaries about the band, do you know where can I find some of them?

Re: VU Documentaries
I'd go for The South Bank Show from 1985 (on Youtube) and follow it up with The Velvet Underground Under Review (which is still available out there). The latter is important as Doug Yule is carefully excised out of nearly all VU docus or potted histories on TV, here he gets a decent amount of time to shine & chat.

They wouldn't turn around & break it
And if anyone played a part
They wouldn't turn around & fake it"

On youtube i've seen a lot of concert films from the 1993 reunion but Strasbourg is still missing, does it exist or not ?! (I know you prefer the upbeat shows or else from the early days, beg your pardon)

Re: VU Documentaries
There is also the Spanish doc. The Arsenal Show (Lot's of Sterling being interviewed) but it isn't up on Youtube. Maybe I can correct that at a later date. There is also a quick 30 minute doc called Velvet Underground: Music Mavericks from the Ovation Channel. Nothing new but it exists none the less. I have it on my DVR saved, but don't know how to copy from DVR except via video cam.jimjim wrote:I'd go for The South Bank Show from 1985 (on Youtube) and follow it up with The Velvet Underground Under Review (which is still available out there). New upload, the Spanish documentary.
I stand corrected. Well that saves me a few hours.
