Favourite band member

Post by Tomnz11 »

Who is your favourite band member and why?
Personally i always liked sterling the most, sure he wasn't as flashy as John or Lou but the Velvets would have been a lot lesser of a band without him. I've always thought he had a fluidity in his guitar playing that Lou never had (Jesus, Rock & Roll, bass in Sunday Morning, rhythm playing in Sister Ray). Not to mention his verses in The Murder Mystery and how cool that shaggy black hair was.

Stacia does it for me. I don't know how Lemmy could play while she did her thing...sigh...

i have to say Cale. For some reason my fab parts on songs are usually from him: Organ in SR, Bass in Run, Run, Run, Viola in Stephanie Says ... and the way he looked on stage!
After he left Sterling for sure

I regard them all as being like strings on a big guitar - when you lose a string the others carry on but something is missing, when you change a string the sound doesn't always stay the same.
