You're right! Very strange - the first lot of tracks are all listed as Factory rehearsals...

I'm not familiar with it - I'm actually unsure whether I've heard it before :?

my initial reaction is that I've not heard it either. If I have, I dont think it's been in this sort of quality. Someone put me out of my misery!

I've just done a quick comparison and I think it's really the same version as track 8 on "All Tomorrow's Parties - Remembering The Velvet Underground" CD, recorded on January 3, 1966 during rehearsals at Andy Warhol's Factory.

How does the Gymnasium stuff sound compared to the bootleg LP? Is the Warhol rehearsal stuff an upgrade over the lossless version that surfaced awhile back?

Why not listen and decide for yourself??

To save you the trouble of actually having to go through the effort of actually interneting it, or whatever, it sounds horrible. What else would you expect from a first gen master tape? Stick with the $40.00 vinyl.

I've not compared it with other sources, I have to say "The Ostrich" does sound pretty good here.

I mentioned this on page 8 of this topic. It is the Factory rehearsal, just not listed on the sleeve. The Factory rehearsals have circulated for quite a while, has anyone actually listened to them??

You may be interested in hearing that Oliviers taken a warning about confirming sources off his website listing of this boot, a very good sign in my book :D

Thankfully this stuff is now torrented. Saved me from wasting my money.

Apparently, ludlow never listened to the Gym vinyl LP, because it sounds quite good.
