The New Lou Reeds

Not sure if any of you have heard this band from Cleveland, but I was turned on to them recently. While they sound nothing like Lou or VU, and despite some critics comparisons, they don't really sound like Pere Ubu either. More blues based rock with a great sense of humour and a singer who maybe shouldn't be. Not sure if there are any other bands with enough balls to choose a band name like that, but they deserve some accolades.

Well, it's a clever play on the "new Dylan" tag.

I would think its the kiss of death to be described as the next "insert band name".....

Surely if Lou Reed was starting today he'd probably be more into making electronic music - i'd say 'Aphex Twin' is the closest i can think of..
