Need Help Identifying 80's Lou Video Footage

Post by MJG196 »

1. Growing Up In Public era: Footage of the band at an outdoor (huge) venue, performing How Do You Speak..., and The Kids. The footage starts w/ Lou and the guys walking down some street, and the camera keeps focusing on some chick's ass in short-shorts!

2. 1983 Quine era: Italian (I think) broadcast. In the lower-right corner is the TV-channel insignia w/ a "5"? They play Kill Your Sons, Some Kinda Love/Sister Ray, and Lou has a KILLER solo during Kill Your Sons.

3. David Letterman - Lou, Fernando, second guitarist is on a riser to the left, and they perform "New Sensations."

4. Lou solo w/ weird guitar, in front of a huge black/white backdrop, performing Last Great American Whale.

(1) is the intro from the original Italian TV broadcast of the Florence 1980 show. On my copy the video is so-so and the audio is awful. (2) is indeed from Italiam TV - from Verona 1983 I think.

Awesome! MCP at HungerCity.org is going to be putting together a compilation of all the stuff on my videos. Some of it is pretty rare, like the Honda Scooter ad!

I alreday have the Florence 80 and Verona 83 showes on DVD but haven't figured out how to/dont have the time to torrent them. Hopefully your copies are better than mine! My Florence 80 DVD has been transferred from a so-so VHS of late 80s vintage.....full of coolour bleed through and saturation....

My ratio is under 0.35 and I didn't notice it when it was happening. I still have some original files on my HD I downloaded there but it's impossible now to download a torrent to increase my ratio. I hope I can get this stuff somewhere else

Important because it will be on my Lou Reed DVD series vol. 5.

Setlist:
Last Great American Whale - Dirty Blvd.

That complete tribute was torrented on dimeadozen a few months ago. I only kept the Lou Reed part (both songs).

part of verona 1983, maybe ? http://youtube.com/watch?v=uFWpDECKqFA
this show was included in a 2DVD set torrented by MCP at MWP last year. (all good quality, though i think the beginning of don kirschner is missing)
