Pictures & Scans: An Idea for a Thread

Post by MJG196 »

How poetic was that thread title?! Shoulda been on Growing Up In Public or The Raven, right?

Here is a scan of Lou and UNCUT magazine editor Allan Jones. (Sorry if it's fuzzy - I blew it up from a 1.5" x 1.5" pic) "He'd just played a brilliant show, as he kept reminding anyone who'd listen. "Am I not the King of Flash?" he kept repeating. It would have been impolite to disagree."

Thanks for the rags, Gav!

Arthur Kane w/ Nico's son, Ari. I am guessing this is '73 or '74.

mjg... this thread is fabulous. I fear I have little to contribute, but just wanted to let you know your efforts are appreciated.

Just to prove once again I'm an ornery bastard  here's another instance of the 1971 pic of the post-Lou band playing for the Dutch "Toppop" TV programme.

Ltr: Doug, Maureen, Walter, Willie. I seem to have read somewhere they played "Rock and Roll" (Loaded had just been released in Europe).

This a press release for events going on at the Film Makers Cinematheque 25 Feb - 2 March 1967. Angus Maclise are mentioned alongside the VU. I don't think this has been published anywhere.

Bleach, those are both great! I swear, you have found some unique stuff over the years. Here is one of 'em. A letter from Barbara Falk:

Funny, I was just reading about this point in time in Bockris's biog on Lou. At this point, Lou was going nuts about not having money, and the Katz brothers (Dennis & Steve) were always the targets of his speed-fueled paranoia.
