BRILLIANT LOU '73 EURO TOUR FOOTAGE! MY GOD!!

Post by MJG196 »

Oh my god!!!!!!! This is the mystery footage from the "Rock & Roll Heart" DVD!! Complete Wild Side and Heroin in black leather gear and white makeup!!! In crystal clarity!!! The whole show MUST have been broadcast at one point. This looks like DVD-quality. We can only pray it makes it out onto DVD in the near future. Just make it past the first few acts and then you'll find Lou, about halfway through the file...

I wasn't born when we could watch that on tv, but my father used to

Is anyone able to burn the high quality version to DVD? I tried to buy it myself, but I'm on Mac and the site says it's not supported. I have VU/Lou DVDs to trade .

Hello,

Of course you can buy it on line, but I bought a Pop 2 with the MC5 a year ago, and it's impossible to burn it and be able to watch it on the TV, it's the latest generation of Dvix with DRM.

My small advises :

1/ We're lucky to have access to the full show, so hurry up, usually you have access to the first 10 minutes of the TV show only

2/ download the programm URL Snooper, then you'll be able to find the adress of the MPG4 that you are watching

3/ copy this adress and then download the mpg4 with net transport, and then you can burn it with Nero

4/ Thanks mg196, as I said, we have usually only access the first 10 minutes only, and all the other Pop 2 seems to be complete, the one with the MC5, "the Velvet Underground" 1972 ect...but go fast :D

URL Snooper :

Another thing, there's no difference of quality when you download the Mpg4 file, it's the same quality than the Divx that you buy on line...

Edit, here's a link to the avi file of the segment with Lou (9 Mns 43)

Thanks!

The ina.fr site says that the files you can buy are at 576x432 vs the 320x240 files that can be viewed for free. It also says that the purchased DRM files can be burned to DVD after your computer is registered on the Divx site, whatever that means. I'd actually be willing to pay them for the higher quality file, but their damn file protection doesn't support Mac, which I assume means I wouldn't be able to view or burn the video.

Yep, you're right, but visually, it's an old show, and on the computer screen, there's no differences, I have the real MC5 POP 2 (Divx), and the Mpg4.
Then on the TV screen, I can't compare, because even if I can burn the Divx, it's impossible to watch it on the TV, I have tried with several certified Divx reader, and there's just the message at the beginin (Avertissement), and then nothing

So even with Windows you'll have the same problem :(

Cant you drop the MPG4 into Toast (on a MAC I mean) and THEN play it?
