I have a Japanese Laserdisc of Curious and it has Japanese subtitles, and the avi file is propably sourced from the Japanese Laserdisc.

I read on another message board that it had been hacked. That could be the problem. Don't know for sure, I never use it (dial-up connection mac os9 system, etc).

yes the version of Curious that many have downloaded is from the LD and it's only been a SVCD. there is no reason to change it to another format and you don't need the extra plugin for Nero to copy it just use the 'copy cd' option.

I have the 93 Tour from Laserdisc transfered to 2 dvdr. EACH dvdr is rec in the XP mode for the best possible picture/sound. I had the same thing done with Zappa's 200 MOTELS, one dvdr in XP mode for each side of the LD, and that IS the standered for LD transfer.
