Where are all the taped shows? (still exists?)

Post by papaya »

At Olivers site under Live performances and rehearsals (1965-1970) are some dates like:

November 14, 1966
Toronto, Canada

Tape: listed in WGO 1+2, 35 mins (incomplete), B-.

whats going on with that tapes are they really exist?

I've often wondered the same thing. There are similar "tapes" listed for some of the 1993 shows that I have yet to come across. And it does make you wonder if, in fact, they actually DO exist. And if the do WHERE ARE THEY? :?: :?: :?:

In moldy basements? I'm afraid to think of all these awesome shows decaying into dust.

Tis a big VU mystery..i bet the Warhol Foundation are sitting on some early crackers..john cales basement..venue owners who recorded gigs etc etc.

I have a scan of that 'What Goes On' page listing all recordings (some of which have never turned up) if anyone wants it pm me with your email add.

I want to know what's up with those film canisters the Warhol museum has that are supposedly labeled "VU, Boston 1967" or something similar..

I've been frustrated with this "where are they?" question for almost
15 years...
Now I'm deeply waiting for the Matrix stuff to be released (Sal?SAL???!!)

But, Yes there must be wonderful stuff on those lost tapes
The thing is how could be a set list and minutes if they are really lost?
But...mystery
