Re: Lou Reed is dead
Struggling with this immense feeling of loneliness. It feels like the one person who was anchoring my universe is gone. Listening to the music now feels so different, hearing his voice and knowing he's no longer here.

Linger On Lou
Re: Lou Reed is dead
Struggling to deal with the grief by scouring the net for tribute articles. Here's an interesting one I found, with an astounding version of Heroin by modern classical composer David Lang: http://www.wqxr.org/#!/story/what-lou-r ... cal-music/
It's been 33 years. Goodbye Lou.

Love this. So defiant, such a warrior; even in his last photograph.
Some words from Moe on "The TakeAway" http://www.thetakeaway.org/story/rock-l ... d-dead-71/
Thanks for the link. I wish he would have just let Moe talk, rather than turn it into a generic interview about songwriting. I like her quote about getting through a perfect day.
It stills blows my mind that Lou is gone. I always envisioned him living well into his 90s, just to spite the universe. It's funny - one of my second graders mentioned that his dad's favorite singer just died, so we spent our morning listening to the self-titled VU album (some of the songs, at least) during math time. They seemed into it. The music lives on.

I felt the same way. Lou just always seemed impervious to anything this world could throw at him.sars wrote: I always envisioned him living well into his 90s, just to spite the universe.

Thank you for this link. That was beautiful. It means everything to read such a noble account of his final hours.
