RIP Lou Reed, the source of all rock music that had anything to say to me.

Of course, Dutch news site nu.nl had to get it wrong vis-a-vis John when they reported on Lou's death, stating that John had recently died as well. Had me shocked for a minute or two until I realised it was the old J.J. Cale mix-up again (they've since realised and corrected their article).

Thats beautiful JimJim.

Somehow it seems appropriate to get out 'Magic & Loss' out again.

and then some loss to even things out.."

This is so shocking, but not unexpected. When looking at the last pictures I already feared that something might happen...
Oh how will I miss him.... I saw him last year and when he played Sad Song, I had tears in my eyes...

I'm really sad also. After all the recent health stuff I expected Lou would be able to soldier on. He stayed true to his
muse as evidenced by his hour long song at the Toronto Jazz festival ( sorry if I got the festival wrong).

I heard that last night at The Bridge Benefit My Morning Jacket, Neil Young and Elvis Costello did Oh Sweet Nothin'.

And say a word for Joana Love
She ain't got nothing at all
With every day she falls in love
And every night she falls
And when she does she says:
Oh, sweet nuthin'
You know She ain't got nothing at all

John Cale:

The news I feared the most, pales in comparison to the lump in my throat and the hollow in my stomach. Two kids have a chance meeting and 47 years later we fight and love the same way ?losing either one is incomprehensible. No replacement value, no digital or virtual fill?broken now, for all time. Unlike so many with similar stories?we have the best of our fury laid out on vinyl, for the world to catch a glimpse. The laughs we shared just a few weeks ago, will forever remind me of all that was good between us.
