One of the first shows of his early 1977 european tour to (nominally) promote "Rock And Roll Heart" - Lou was being touted as the "godfather of punk" by the
record company and had a reputation to live up to. I dont think he disappointed anyone with this show - always one of my favourites from this tour. An excellent
quality stereo audience recording - there are a few glitches but I dont think they spoil the listening experience. Unless someone out there is sitting on a soundboard
of this show then I think that this is as good as it's going to get.
After abandoning his guitar for most of the late 1976 "TV sets" US tour, Lou is back playing dirty licks as if he really means it. The band rocks and the atmosphere
is electric - Lou only pays lip service to the new LP and delivers a killer set. White Light/White Heat is taken at breakneck speed, "Kicks" crackles with smouldering
menace and "Sister Ray" is a frantic feedback and sax frenzy with Lou's manic speedfreak vocals. ....and then he comes out and delivers an almost tender "Lisa Says"
as the final encore

anyone who hasn't already heard this great show/recording really needs to hear it!

Is it the version with 3 different sources ? I like it despite the fact that as time flies, his art became less and less interesting, for me his last good tour was with Doug Yule in 1975.

part of this recording was used on a (misdated) vinyl bootleg LP but this is the whole recording, straight from a 1st generation cassette.

Re: Lou Reed - 1977-03-26 - Olympen Theatre, Lund (Re-seed)
I had forgotten all about "source 3"!!!!
It looks like source #1 is the old vinyl boot "Street Shuffle on ...." (which was mastered from part of Ander's original recording)
Source #2 is from my upload of Ander's entire recording (from a 1st gen copy)
Source #3 is presumably from a different recording of the same show? I think I have it somewhere but I cant remember where....is it comparable in quality to the rest of the songs?

Re: Lou Reed - 1977-03-26 - Olympen Theatre, Lund (Re-seed)
Sad song sounds a lot different and much poorer, spliced in two, are you sure it comes from the same show ?
Re: Lou Reed - 1977-03-26 - Olympen Theatre, Lund (Re-seed)
no I'm not convinced at all, and I'm not sure who originally attributed that date to "source 3".
When Anders sent me a copy of his master recording (and that of the Feb 75 show as well) back in the 1990s, he said it was complete (and it stopped after "Lisa Says"). That was the tape I originally uploaded back in 2007 and which is being reseeded again.
Anyone out there have any ideas about "source 3"?

Source 1 has crackles so you're right ; 'Sad song' was played in Europe in 1979 but I don't know about a so poor recording of it.
