What's with this place?

Post by GroovyMusic »

I posted a rare version* of Foggy Notion in the torrent thread a while ago and according to my rapidshare account (anyone can have a free rapidshare account to keep track of their uploads) over 80 people have downloaded it so far...

...But not one person even bothered to even ask me where it was from...

So, speak up! You know who you are!

*Radically different sounding studio recording--I'm not claiming anything about it because I don't know anything about it other than what my ears are telling me (but I DO know the source).

Groovy,
If we have missed a genuinine new version of FN then I think we all owe you an apology. But lt me make a few observations..

I couldn't find the post you mention above. I knew you had posted somehting about 20sec snippets of FN before but I decided that 20sec snippets of different bootleg versions of the same track was not worth pursuing. Some of us do not share your interest in the subtle differences of different copies of the same bootleg.

I had to go through 10 yes 10 pages of all your posts to find the right one. That's over 100 posts since 28th December. Then I saw that it was in the new torrents thread. I think the first point I am making hear is that you have to admit you make a lot of posts here Groovy and I think this one got missed by many of us as it's easy to overlook.

After writing the above diplomatic waffle I have finally downloaded the track and now realise why no one is interested. What I hear is a muffled version of the same recording and with artificially boosted bass. A badly eq'd copy of the same track as we all have a million times already. Just what is the point groovy?

And have you heard the one about the boy who cried wolf?

Heh, oh well..

It's just that this place is completely dead...one member who I even hooked up with an upgrade of one of his bootlegs even ha dthe nerve to ignore a later request of mine

And to me that version of Foggy Notion sounds spectacular and like I said, Rapidshare says 80 people have downloaded it so far...but I guess no one else but me likes it.

Oh and I may have a ridiculous amount of posts, but I also have a ridiculous amount of bootlegs*! Putting my time into this place has paid off...now if only I could just put the finishing touches on my collection.

*Thank you--you know who you are

Groovy, this is ridiculous. Are you hear to promote yourself?? How wonderful you are to provide a 20 second snippet of a song instead of sharing to the community. Are you waiting for 80 people to congatulate you and tell you how wonderful you are for providing this? You sound as if you made the music yourself...which you didn't unless you are Lou Reed himself which I doubt.

Datsun was referring to something else when he mentioned the "20-second" thing--go back and read his post more carefully. This is about a full version of Foggy Notion that I consider to be spectacular-sounding.

But it isn't really about that...I was just trying to make a point.

And why would I wanna promote myself?
