VU-Boston Tea Party 12-12-68 4th Gen Tape torrent

Post by upsetter »

Tape: aud, 85 mins, B, recorded by "The Professor".
Candy says is introduced by Lou as a new song that no-one has heard before and sings it himself.

Source: Trade (4th Gen Audience Tape -> Audio CDs) ->EAC ->WAV ->Volume Normalize -> Flac

Intro
Heroin
Move Right In
Waiting For The Man
I'm Set Free
Foggy Notion
Beginning To See The Light
Candy Says
White Light/White Heat
Jesus
Sister Ray
Pale Blue Eyes

Notes: the legend says that all the Boston Tea Party tapes (with the exception of the 'guitar amp tape') were recorded by a guy known as "The Professor", who smuggled a reel-reel tape deck into the Tea Party underneath his poncho. Some of his reels were transferred to cassette by Phil Milstein, and these are the tapes now in circulation.

This is the best quality recording of the show I have heard though there's still a fair amount of hiss in the quitest songs and the bass does boom a bit in places.

Thanks to lurid_uk for the trade

Please help me seed once downloaded! Apologies for the slow upload

This is really wonderful... much nicer than I'd anticipated. I'm Set Free took me back to the days when I first heard the 3rd album. Move Right In- really moved- right in.

Etc. And So On.

Thanks for the response - it makes it all worthwhile :)

Pretty much every song on this is the best (performance wise) live recording available imho - it's a pretty clear recording really, you're able to hear the vocals (a rarity) and the instruments are pretty distinct too. You're right about Move Right In - had another listen tonight and it does move > right > in. As for Sister Ray, well... sorry all you cale lovers but this beats the studio version hands down ;)

Would I have to download the torrent again to get the package art, or is there a way I can just dowload the cover art?

This torrent is very much appreciated, awesome show... thanks!
