Holy shit!

Lou, John, managers, record labels, etc. etc. should really get their act together NOW and put this and the Warhol tapes (with the elusive track 7) out as Bootleg Series Vol. 2. Really.

Cool illustration!

Wow! This is such a cool story. Note to self: spend more time at garage sales. If I was poking around in the bargain bin god knows where, and came across a VU demo acetate, I'd probably just keel over and die over excitement. I think letter writing campaigns are pretty lame, but we should totally do one! to who? probably polydor, maybe lou, seeing that they'd be wealthy enough to buy it. I'd love love LOVE to see this as Bootleg series #2. Didn't mo spearhead the release of the quine tapes? maybe we should write her to pressure the overlords to get this baby released!!!

This story really is amazing. How long will it be before the rest of us get to hear it? Sure would make a cool Christmas gift! ;)

Rosie will release this boot track by track. Except track 7 will be missing. In it's place will be a 16 second excerpt of track 6.

Ahem. kawf kawf.

While the Portland artilcle about the guy that found it is recent Oliver's site had news of the discovery some 6 months ago. See the link above and scroll down to April 25, 1966 Scepter Studios NYC. It even details some of the differences in the early, discarded Scepter Studios version of Heroin. What's interesting is that apparently someone in the VU community has heard this. I mean someone would of had to of heard it to pick up on the fact that the first line of Heroin is slightly different....
