great lost 4th album
great lost 4th album
It's probably been debated already, but the "real" 4th album that Moe and Sterling discuss in the "uptight" Bockris book does anybody know it it's anywhere? any info? thehe's a mention about 8 songs by moe and songtitles. Gary Kellgren if the engineer.

It's a build it yourself album of tracks from that era. No official track list of order. One of those fantasy incomplete albums like Smile used to be (and better for it in that case)
You need a larg-ish collection to put it together yourself but everything you need to know is probably here:

I'm sure someone here has collected the tracks together as per that list. I seem to remember. We've probably all got our own versions.

Yeah, the Hi-Fi version is from stuff that is all available commercially - you just have to put the songs together.
The Lo-Fi version is from various bootleg LP's and may be a bit harder to collect. I think the two versions of Ride Into The Sun from the two different EP's may be a bit scares, but I'm not sure.

Ride Into The Sun September 5, 1969 3:01 Ride EP
Ride Into The Sun [w/ intro] September 5, 1969 3:10 Ride EP
and
One Of These Days (And so on)
Is the first 'Ride...' from the Ride EP the one that I have on What Goes On boxset?
I think I have the second 'Ride..' with on some bad windows media file but not sure if its the same one. Sounds like a demo.

no it's not
according to moe tucker it's not anything that's released on vu or another view it recorded early 70, that's why it's so darn interesting... so come on let's get the inside fans going-...
I think it's the one you need, as the WGO version sounds very similar to the Another View version, but with vocals. That's the definitive version of this song too, as fas as I am concerned.iaredatsun wrote:Is the first 'Ride...' from the Ride EP the one that I have on What Goes On boxset?
Yeah, there is a late-1969 version also included on that Inrockuptibles CD (which I haveiaredatsun wrote:I think I have the second 'Ride..' with on some bad windows media file but not sure if its the same one. Sounds like a demo.

Now, I just realised that I also have it on 'First Night' (just shows how often I play that).arjan wrote:Yeah, there is a late-1969 version also included on that Inrockuptibles CD (which I have), but that version is different, more sloppy and closer to the Loaded demos in feel. Also, this is the first version to have that "hard to live in the city" section IIRC. Not really essential. Wasn't it part of that late-1969 demo that also yielded the country version of I Found a Reason?
I really love the instrumental from Another View and yes the vocal version from WGO is very close.
I have to admit - sometimes I like lining up all the versions of Ride and listening to them back to back. I include the Reed solo but I do not include the syrupy Yule versions (Matrix live and the Loaded era demo).
So does anyone have a digitised version of One of These Days rough mix? I'd love a copy.

I'd be happy to help but it seems that the only thing I have for this is...the blank DVD!!!tarbaby2 wrote:Great idea!!!![]()

Obviously, I have all the "official" releases which I'm sure everybody else here does also.
Although I don't have the LP version of Foggy Notion with the introductory coda yet! Is there much of a difference between that and the standard version?
