Lou performed at the VMA's last night

Post by sars »

He did part of White Light/White Heat with the Jake White's non white Stripes, or maybe he was there to chaperone. Difficult to tell.

Lou sang and played White Light White Heat. Surprised the heck out of me. If it wasn't for me liking Lou and VU my kids wouldn't have known who he was. All they're into is NOW - they don't really know the history of music. They wouldn't have the music they listen to now if it wasn't for the great groups of the past!

He rocked out like a mofo, but MTV made them play just a miniature one verse version!

It was good while it lasted though

Funnily enough, it's the other way 'round in my family. My parents had never heard of the Velvets or Lou Reed before. I guess it's because they're into music like Foreigner and America. :?

Oh and Lou was great on the VMAs! Too bad it was so short!

And he also presented the best rock video award apparently too.

The award presentation is up on MTV.com somehwere. You gotta click on the "video" tab at the top and look through the different awards videos. I found it at one point, but forget where now.

There was also a real quick interview after the show. They've been playing the awards all weekend. On again today.

You can get a better video of the performance somewhere on the MTV/VMA website. I watched it the day after the actual show.

Well, you must be in the U.S. then. Those of us not so blessed can't see the videos, apparently due to copyright reasons. Pathetic!
