What would you do if you had some never-before-heard VU?

Hm?

Just to clarify: Option 1 is meant to mean: If you somehow become aware that the record companies do not* want you to be doing what you're doing--whether or not it's because they plan to release it or not--you will stop distributing/not start.

*Assuming that they may just decide to keep their heads turned

I voted for "naughty number 2 too".

I hoped I had a shot at this last summer when I shelled out $50 for a tape from eBay that said it was the "lost Vulcan" show from Austin, Texas that was known to have been taped. The thought is that the tape(s) were lost when the owner committed suicide. But, I was gullible and prayed that I would get lucky and bought it. No good. It was just the 1969 vinyl LP cut to cassette tape.

If I had some "new" stuff I would try to make it as available as possible. So many people in this forum have been so nice to me in helping me get so much of the music that I would feel guilty if I didn't try to return the favor.

I just wish I was better at all this computer stuff and I would help others with what I have.

100 % for numero dos......

proper thing, too: I've gotten so much great stuff from anonymous sources that I'd be due a karmic beatdown if I DIDN'T spread it.....

Cale asked me not to spread the Dom shows and the White Light outtakes and the original '65 demo tape around, so... sorry.

(Yeah, right. :P )

Actually, the option I would follow isn't up there. If the source that placed the tapes into my hands did so under the condition that I not spread it around, then I would not spread it around. I would honor the guy's trust, even if it was something people were dying to hear. I've been close to being in that situation with some Beach Boys tracks, at the time very rare and uncirculated SMiLE tracks. But in the end, the guy never sent them to me. A few years later, though, they did get leaked on the internet and me and alot of other people were finally able to hear them.

I voted for three but I probably would allow some very close friend of mine to hear it if he would promise to tell absolutely no one about it, not a soul.
