Looks like it's made with a bit of love, but I'm unclear whether this counts as a real release or a fan-made CD-R compilation. 23 copies.
The best thing in it that I don't already have is the 'Vinyl, 7", unplayable/no sound '.

underground, overground
Re: New VU bootleg box
Yeah, the 7" is really great, one side is blank and numbered on the label, the other side is covered with black velvet....maybe this is the only "real" "velvet underground" 7" ever released....

Re: New VU bootleg box
No doubt this is a home-made compilation set. DISCOGS has a lot of flaws, and one of them is that it allows anyone who has a CD burner to create a CD and post it into the database. I could literally make a CD of myself taking a dump and post it in the database.

Of course this is a fanmade set, but its done with a lot of affection and love...anyway, everything thats physically touchable counts a a "real" release for me....especially if its done like this particular boxset...this is the essence of the velvets rare recordings crammed into one release...
Re: New VU bootleg box
interesting to see the 2 Surfsiders tracks on here. After many many listenings, I've finally convinced myself that it IS Lou on vocals. But I dont suppose we'll ever know for sure.

Re: New VU bootleg box
A picture of the cover of the "surfriders" album is shown in johan kugelbergs "new york art" book, and as the remaining members of the VU where involved in the production of the book it must be true that lou sings the lead vocals on these two tracks....

I think there's already a live bootleg of this, but it sounds like crap.iaredatsun wrote:Looking forward to it, MJG!MJG196 wrote: I could literally make a CD of myself taking a dump and post it in the database.
