15 sec. is cut from the middle of Melody Laughter on Move Ba
Re: 15 sec. is cut from the middle of Melody Laughter on Move Ba
The information I have on this from my memory of various internet sources over the years is that someone did an A-B comparison of the Move Back nothing songs remaster and the Nico Beautiful friend vol.1 version and concluded that the Beatiful friend version was marginally better. Another source on the internet claimed that it was probably a leak from the PSAS remastering session, in which they apparently remastered the whole show, not just Melody Laughter. I know that Nico Beautiful Friend vol.1 is likely to exist because I have Nico Beautiful Friend vol.2 which contains just Nico shows, no VU. It was seeded on Zomb years ago. Probably the one thats referred to here: http://www.velvetforum.com/viewtopic.ph ... ful+friend
Although this might be vol 1 I guess. Maybe Sunshine can throw light on this?!

Guys, the next best version to Move Back! is this:

I base that on the fact that I have MP3 copies of this bootleg. So can someone who owns this please rip it with Exact Audio Copy in secure mode and share it? And then maybe we'll fix the beginning (the version on this bootleg, while otherwise uneditted, is faded in, whereas Move Back!, ironically, is not).
I actually purchased this CD online once, and it turned out to be CD-Rs of MP3s with a photocopied insert. Then I found it for auction again and I knew from the photo it was legitamite, but it was coming from Japan and I never received it.
So I really feel like I deserve a copy of it!

.
That's the vinyl version and the vinyl version is cut off and faded out by like two minutes.
The CD version is the entire show.

I have this track rip'd in FLAC and ready to post, but could use a hand uploading it to a storage site.
I believe I got this CD when it came out, but hadn't realized that it's become rare. Once we get the "Melody Laughter" transfer out of the way, if there's interest I'll be happy to FLAC over the whole thing.

Go to http://hotfile.com/ Click Browse... to locate the file you want to upload. Tick the little box next to the terms of service agreement. Click Upload. The website will generate links for sharing the file. The first link is the one you want. Then we just have to go to that link and we'll be able to download the file.
Thank you!
As far as ripping the entire CD (don't worry, this looks a lot longer in written out instructions than the actual process). Download Exact Audio Copy: http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/en/index.p ... /download/ -> click the little "DigitalWorld" button (white text, red backround) -> you'll be brough to a web page. Scroll down a bit. You should see "Download" in bold letters and then "Exact Audio Copy 1.0 Beta 1" in green underneath. Click "Exact Audio Copy 1.0 Beta 1." Your download should begin. Install the program after it downloads. Once you're in the program, go to the "EAC" menu (upper left, next to Edit, Action, Database, Tools, and Help.) Go to "Drive options..." An "Information" message should pop up. Read the message as that will explain the purpose of this next step. Click OK. OK, now go to "Detect Read Features..." After this test is finished, click "Apply," of course. Once that's done, you're ready to rip the CD assuming the CD is in mint condition without one single scratch or fingerprint on it. If it's not then we need to configure EAC to handle less-than-perfect CDs. I'll hold off on indicating to you what to do in hopes that your copies of the discs are mint. OK, so on to ripping the CD... On the left you'll see a few buttons. The top one is "WAV." Just click that button. The process should begin. After the process completes, upload the all files to a HotFile and you're done! If you want, you can convert the files to FLAC, but it's really not necessary. I'll be happy to tell you how to convert the files to FLAC and answer any questions you have. Thanks again!
Also, for your convenience, you might want to store all the files in a ZIP or RAR archive. This means you only have to do one upload. Download 7-zip ( http://www.7-zip.org/ ). Open the program and locate all the ripped tracks (you should have put them all in a seperate folder). Now, highlight all the tracks, and click the "Add" button (upper left, it's a yellow + sign) You should be given a menu with a bunch of options. You only need to be concerned about two of the options: "Archive format" and "Compression level" right underneath that. For "Archive format" choose ZIP. For "Compression level" choose "Store." This process will package all the audio files into a single file: a ZIP file. The ZIP will be located in the same folder as the audio files. Now you can just upload that one file to HotFile.
Thank you!
