"The crowd at the theater where the film showed was small - I'd say about 150 people. I don't think it was publicized widely here. I noticed Richie Unterberger, author of the WL/WH book, in the audience."
You mean you saw 4 or 5 year old Richie in the audience. My son slept through Sonic Youth at 3 so he tops that.
To be very clear, my comment here referred to the crowd here in SAN FRANCISCO (not Boston) watching the FILM of the VU (not the VU performing live). The performance in Boston appeared to be considerably better attended.
having seen it once i can't wait to see it again, i would go in a second if it played here again. if anything ever happened with someone having access to a copy of it pm me, i will totally contribute to this cause.

Yeah, I don't know what happened there; the momentum is GONE!
OK, here is a link from Dig Boston about a showing of the film. There is a YouTube clip of Venus in Furs with E.P.I. footage. The footage seems familiar but the audio sounds a bit different. Definitely live. Speculate: Is this possibly the first online appearance of a clip from The Velvet Underground Live in Boston, or just a 3:27 clip of already existing footage?
