Alfredo, I'm terminally confused about I Heard Her Call My Name.alfredovu wrote:I Hear Her Call My Name on Side B master reads "OLD VERSION" and a red dot (suppossedly marked for the singles) and a note saying "This is master for single, mono & stereo albums"
Oliviers´s site has in red (unreleased) the Old Version clocking 4:05 (*) (versus 4:36 of the already published ).As per above, I would say that what we have already is the Old Version and what we are going to receive in the Deluxe Set is the "New Version" (alternate version).
I always thought
NEW = Lou Reed's mix (because the anecdote is that he went back and remixed it without the band)
OLD = the previous mix that was replaced .
If it says 'master for single, mono & stereo albums', then did Sundaze actually use the wrong master in the Singles Box. Or was that instruction superceded by the use of Lou Reed's mix on the LP?
If it says 'master for single, mono & stereo albums' then does that confirm that the mono and stereo versions of this track are actually the same mix?
Also is the 'new version' track 7 listed on the 45th Anniversary Edition the track used on the Sundazed singles set? If so then surely it is not an 'alternate take' (as they describe) but a different mix.
