doesnt say much though
It does seem to confirm the 2xLP format though. I kind of hope disc two has the extras. A stereo and mono in one pack seems a little pointless.

Gymnasium? Well, who knows what's on the second LP, if there is one? And would they release a 2LP with both mono and stereo versions?
They might. I've got a 2LP which has the Iggy and Bowie mixes of Search and Destroy.

I'm not the least bit put out by a disk which contains the full mono tracks even if some of them are folds. When I play the mono I want to play it all the way through. All of them sound better in mono to me and I don't really mind if that's just some placebo affect. I am intrigued by the remixes of the Another VU tracks. I wonder if this heralds some later work on the VU tracks with mixes that are more sympathetic. Some of us were nagging Leveson about that on the Sundazed FB page. I would snap that up in a second. And besides I Guess I'm Falling In Love has always sounded shit on CD.

@ Jim Jim, I don't think it is a Swan mix, just superior mastering and I'm not sure much is gained by dumping the Ludlow stuff on here too.

Anyone have any ideas what might be on the 2 Disc Deluxe version (the one Alfredo published the pic of)? If it's discs 1 & 3 of the boxset that's the one for me!

Good point about the VU mixes. ANother thing is that when it came to the mono version of VU&N, UMG made their own remaster of that album - and did not use the Sundazed version. I guess it is the same with this version of mono WLWH. I agree that in theory, there would be nothing stopping them remixing the '4th LP' era materials, if they haven't even already done so and got them all in the can ready.

I'm with you on Ludlow demos, although I like Here She Comes from that set.

I found this on Amazon....

http://www.amazon.com/White-Light-Heat- ... ight+vinyl

Looking forward to this set, although I think the vinyl release should have had the Gymnasium stuff too (and still remain in a similar price range).

Wow, a live "Gift," alt take of "Heard Her Call My Name," and a Cale "Beginning to See the LIght." NEW VU! Bring it on.

I also wonder if "Booker T" which seemed faded in at the beginning will have more added to its length. I'm hoping.

According to Olivier's site, there is an extra 8 seconds on the Paris S'eveille CDEP. I would hope we get that at least. I can't say whether the ep also fades in because I have never seen it let alone heard it. I think those missing seconds are on the True Rock and Roller boot. I can't remember if this also fades in. Will have a listen and report back.

ETA: The True Rock and Roller boot does not fade in, but starts witht the song already underway. This might be the moment whent the taper pressed 'record' or there may be a few more precious seconds. If this constitutes a single set, it would put to bed the suggestion that Booker T and The Gift were one and the same.

The EP version also fades in, just a few seconds earlier than the PSAS version.

The Gift Live clocks 6:41, so there are 2 extra seconds over the Paris S´Eveille Promo CD. Not a big difference but i know people that kills for every second of unreleased VU material (incluidng me!)

Recording Dates
PSAS: master tape for Wl/WH side A reads "September 18, 1967" and October 5, 1967 for side B. Therefore dates I provided from the MGM book are not correct.
THis means that recording dates took place first half of September and Studio recording of Guess I´m Falling In Love , even if sound is do different - I agree- , were done almost at the very same time.

Also , you all may remember that PSAS Disc , 3 noted "New Version. I Heard Her Call Your (sic) Name" NOTE: AFTER THE HEAVY WHITE LEADER DO NOT USE. Time (the number 3) has been modified to read 4:35 (*)

I Hear Her Call My Name on Side B master reads "OLD VERSION" and a red dot (suppossedly marked for the singles) and a note saying "This is master for single, mono & stereo albums"
Oliviers´s site has in red (unreleased) the Old Version clocking 4:05 (*) (versus 4:36 of the already published ).As per above, I would say that what we have alreday is the Old Version and what we are going to receive in the Deluxe Set is the "New Version" (alternate version).

pilgrim. thanks for posting the track-listing. I'm happy with vinyl line-up. Now we get the Cale studio stuff on LP, even if we don't need two 'Rains'.

I guess UMG will license someone else to release Gymnasium on vinyl. That's how they released the Scepter tracks (a RSD release).
