This is a combination of two different FM-recordings, see below for the details on how these were combined.
SOURCE 1: Taken from an unknown Dutch VARA "Poppodium" FM radio broadcast.
Source and lineage (transferred by Magnix): FM > ? > Tape > Tape > WAV > FLAC level 8.
The exact lineage is not certain. Dubbed this from tape to tape back on September 26, 1990. The tape I got it from may or may not have been the master from the FM broadcast. Whatever the generation, the quality is absolutely great.
Furthermore, the tape was labeled as recorded at the Carré in Amsterdam. Upon some investigation I believe that is incorrect, and the show was at the Ahoy in Rotterdam.
Used software: CDWave v1.94.5 > Cool Edit Pro v2.00 > CDWave v1.94.5 > FLAC v1.1.2 as build in Traders Little Helper v1.1.1 (build 90).
SOURCE 2: FM>Nakamichi BX-125E>Maxell XLll>cdr>EAC secure mode>Flac level 8
COMBINATION:
* Announcement + counting 1-2-3-4 from source 2; on source 1 the counting fades in - a crossfade has been applied to combine this; on the count of 4 the two sources match up; no music has been touched ...
* Tracks 1-4 taken from source 1
* Source 2 takes over at the beginning of track 5, right where the music starts: because the two sources are mixed differently (source 1 has the audience much louder), they also sound different; plus on source 1 the crowd noise between tracks 4 and 5 is a little bit longer than on source 2; that's why I pieced the sources together in the start of the song instead of during the crowd noise inbetween tracks 4 and 5 ...
* Tracks 5-9 taken from source 2
Lineage: FLAC level 8 from sources 1 & 2 > seperate WAV-files mixed to a combined WAV-file > splits and conversion to FLAC level 8.
Used software: FLAC v1.2.1 as build in Traders Little Helper v2.6.0 (build 168), Cool Edit Pro v2.00, and CDWave v1.98
Another tape from the Magnix Live Archive.
Disclaimer.
This combination of two different sources was made for my own use in the first place. This is shared for others to enjoy as well. Nothing more, nothing less. If you want the recording to be edited differently, be my guest. Both recordings are available separately as well.
