Hey I have a question for you all who own this.

I've been thinking of ordering it but I'll sell my old VU CDs for some extra cash to buy this with. Now I'm just wondering, is it worth the price that its at. I noticed it has tons of unreleased material that I can't get anywhere else plus the albums. I own all the studio albums and Max's Kansas City release. I'm just wondering if I should bother picking this up or asking other VU fans if they could possibly send me some of the songs on the collection that I want.

I got my PSAS off of eBay a while ago for less than $30.00. Have you tried that? Yes, I would definitely say it is a must have. The Quine Tapes are also very good in that they have stuff on them that were never available anywhere else until now.

Yeah I did see some good prices that were around 30 dollars. I just wanted to make sure this was worth the money. Thanks Tarbaby2. I think I'll read a few more reviews on Amazon just to get a little more background too.

You seem to be a new convert to the world of the VU in which case I'd say there is no better place to start than the box set with its great collection of music (including most but not all of what you'll need) and fantastic booklet (with a good run through of the band's history and great photos).

Go for it.

I just picked up mine on ePay for $25. Why sell all of your other discs? You can grab the set cheap if you have patience.

Yeah, I think I'll ebay it. Though the reason I said I'll sell my other discs would be to make some money off them to buy it with, but if its cheaper on ebay, I'm all for that.

It is annoying that the box is really for people who already own at least half of the material on it, but I sucked it up years ago and didn't regret it.

I recommend you keep the single CDs because sometimes you just want to hear the album, nothing more... I'm that way with the 3rd album, it's a cohesive unit, I want it to start and end the way it's supposed to start and end. Although it is true that you could program that from the disk, or just make a new disk leaving out the extras, in practice I would never bother, and just listen to something else.

I recommend keeping the third album on CD. The box set version sounds like the version I have on record, but I think they remixed the CD version, it sounds very different to me anyway.
