Lou Reed first euro gig

Hi everybody,
Lou Reed played his first gig of the euro tour last night in Oporto. It was a special show because it was the opening of a new Venue (Casa Da Música, meaning house of music) and it was a sold out show (capacity: 1.200, very intimate). He was in a great mood, said a lot of great things about the venue and complained (in a Take no Prisioners way) about the fact that most of the people were not having fun beause they all had invitations and didn't know his music.
He was wrong though. The reaction was great! For me, the best moments were the great versions of My House and Charlie's Girl. The song selection was almost the same as previous us shows.
Nice to have him back, though. Go and see him wherever he plays.
One funny thing, he looks like the late 70's Lou Reed. For me, at least...

it's too bad he plays the same setlist night after night.
Last tour I saw him 3 nights in a row.
Every night was the same ...even the the little jokes (3 chords, small town etc..).
With the amount of songs he has he should switch it up a little.
Even if he only change a couple of songs and maybe the song order.

Yes, you're absolutely right. I feel the same way. I'd love to listen to some diferent songs myself.
However, this time he seemed particularly happy...maybe because it was the opening of a very important venue in Portugal, designed by Rem Koolhaas, a very influential architect...you know that he just loves this kind of stuff....
Well, i've seen him twice last year and you're right, the show was not much diferent anyway...i don't know why, but i wouldn't mind to see him again, though...
