I posted this link in another thread, but it definitely deserves its own. http://www.lemanszone.dk/vu/andet/loutrans.html
I am currently weeding through it and editing it into an easy to read document. I'm getting rid of all the "ga" lines ("go ahead" in ancient internet lexicon) and just trying to make it more readable. here are some nuggets:
(Wilson Smith) Was any consideration ever given to Doug Yule's participation in a velvets reunion?
(Lou Reed) None what so ever.
-*-
(Don St. John) Lou, *why* no VU tour? Major disappointment for US fans....drop by RockNet forum sometime.
(Lou Reed) Cale and I can't stand each other.
-*-
(Misha Glouberman) Hey Lou- "What do you think the sense of guilt manifested in most of your songs has to do with being Jewish?"
(Lou Reed) I question that there's any sense of guilt. And it has nothing to do with being or not being Jewish.
(Misha Glouberman) Sorry, it's just my favorite moment from that Lester Bangs book....
(Lou Reed) Lester Bang was an idiot. I was at a lecture by a seraphic scholar and he brought an interesting thought - it was that the Jewish God wants you to enjoy life, not suffer.
