Hi, I'm new here. Don't know if anyone here is in Indiana, but want to let you know there's going to be an Andy Warhol film festival called "Let Me Be Your Mirror" in Indianapolis.

Thanks. I'm going to work in the ticket booth for part of the festival. It's in an art theater that seems to be doing suprisingly well. I'm not sure what to expect from the films. They will probably be a bit odd, even to someone like me who's interested in the genre. But it will be a new experience.

I can hardly believe myself, but I have never seen an entire Warhol film. I hear they are, as expected, quite unusual, but I am sure they have to be as amazing as well. The one I'd most like to see is "Edie Saechao ". I will visit the website you posted today (my computer was down last night).

The recently screened Warhol films as part of the Electromediascope series in KC. They were Chelsea Girls, Velvet Underground and Nico: A symphony of sound, Vinyl, and Hedie.

I made it to Chelsea Girls and VU film. Chelsea Girls is really interesting, but it's hard to sit through 3 1/2 hours of it. Basically people in hotel rooms doing performance art, non-sensical stuff, there are two scenes in different frames on the screen at once, but audio only from one of the scenes. Apparently one of the scenes was shot at John Cale's loft I think and the Velvet Underground are playing in another room at full volume, doing drone type stuff. The scene is of Gerard Malanga talking to an old transvestite who is supposed to be his mom, trying get permission to marry Hanoi Hannah aka Mary Woronov (dressed as a schoolboy). The transvestite gets drunk and starts hitting the bed with a whip and yelling about something with the VU music in the next room almost shaking the walls because it is so loud. Again, really far-out film with random scenes in hotel rooms (the title is from the Chelsea Hotel in Manhatten) that becomes a little tedious after about 3 hours... especially 40 minutes of Eric Emerson tripping on acid and talking about the taste of his sweat.

I really recommend seeing it if you can, though, if you're into the Silver Factory scene

I've heard that it's an odd movie and not for everyone, but with my interest in the Factory, I'm intrigued. I read the book "Edie" a long time ago, and I've seen "Nico Icon." They gave me an idea of what to expect.
