Lou Reed - Evenementenhal, Groningen 2nd May 1977. Mixing desk recording

Lou Reed
Evenementenhal, Groningen
2nd May 77

Silver CD > CD Wave > TLH > FLAC
Nakamichi Tapedeck > CDR> Audacity> TLH > FLAC

Mixing desk recording

62 minutes total

01 Dirt-Oh Jim
02 You Better Get off That Dance
03 Shooting Star
04 Wait
05 We're Gonna Have a Real Good Time Together
06 Gimme Some Good Times
07 Street Hassle
08 Heroin

Another mono mixing desk recording from 1977, once more with a couple of pretty unique performances...the unreleased You Better Get Off That Dance, and Street Hassle to a totally different tune!

I've added Heroin from the Victoria Theatre, London 28 April 77 at the end. It's from another mixing desk recording, but one where the quality varied so wildly (as in to very bad quality for much of the gig) that I deleted all but this track when I transferred it from tape. It sounds a good version to me, well recorded and well worth salvaging from an otherwise poor quality recording.

Track splitting was re-done in CD Wave on a couple of tracks, otherwise it's a straight tranfer from the CD 2 of the Banging on My Drums set.

Interesting speech from Lou, after the last number from the Groningen gig, "Street Hassle" ...

He announces, sounding a little tired, and possibly stoned or drunk, and possibly not entirely serious on every point (though sounding serious, like Lou) -

"By the way, case you're wondering, we're er...new songs are that you haven't heard before they're coming out, and it's going to come out called "Coming out baby".

Erm, Metal Machine Music RCA is pushing as the latest, it isn't, erm rock and roll at all, so don't buy it under those false pretences because you'll just return it.

But also, please don't blame me, write to RCA and tell them they're shitheads".

Enjoy.

LOOKING FOR LOU...

Can anyone share these?

Civic Auditorium, Santa Monica 25 November 76
I do actually have the above, but from a very hissy tape. I could work on it and upload but I suspect someone out there may have a better version? It has been shared online in mp3, obviously I'm looking for lossless...

Orpheum Theatre, Boston 29 October 76
I understand a rather nice bootleg of the FM show exists, and was once shared online on a blog a few years back. I've never heard it and would love to!

Bottom Line, New York 11 May 77
Apparently it's another "Mixer" recording, I'd be interested to hear it if poss.

thanks for any help there!
