Seeing that post about an 'after hours booklet', I remembered that there was a new book out in August.
Jovanovic's 'The Velvet Underground Peeled'.
Has no one else here bothered to even read it?

I ordered it from Amazon but haven't read it yet - I need to finish some schoolwork first. I'll report back when I'm finished.

I had a quick flick through it in a bookshop the other day. Seemed quite perfunctory really so didn't bother to buy it.

The info's pretty standard and up to date - like a more accurate "Uptight." Really nothing new or different. There's a little blurb about the Velvet Revolution which is interesting.

I read that this was supposed to have an interview with Martha Morrison. So that didn't offer
any new revelations? The upgraded Feedback book by Ignacio Julia had an expanded
interview with Sterling that shed quite a bit of extra light on his time with the VU.

The book promised to be a re-telling of the story based on new interviews. The amazon book description contains a quote ? 'It's a tribute as much as a biography' which fully puts me off. Do we need another tribute?
This Record Collector review hints at the original promise but could just be a rehash of a press release:

I'm glad to hear that some people are investigating the book and look forward to hearing opinions.
