Did anyone ever notice that Bowie took the intro to Train round the bend and wrote the song Heroes from this riff. He's the greatest rip off artist of all time :o

Ummm....I dont see that one at all. And even if it were true (which I dont believe it is), how would ripping off Train Round the Bend qualify anyone as the "Greatest Ripoff Artist of All Time?" That song defines an era (the end of the 70's) without copping a single 70's cliche. A near impossible task if you ask me.

I think Led Zeppelin may fit the "Ripoff Artist" bill a helluva lot better (though I still love 'em).

And to call BOWIE of all people a rip-off artist? One of the most legendary trendsetters in Rock History? I dunno, dude.

Listen to the song again you will see what I mean. Also I mean it as a twisted compliment, I've been listening to both songs since I was a kid and only noticed it now, that takes genius. There are many other examples of his songs where he takes whats around him and makes it his own (off the top of my head from Iggy,Eno,Roxy Music,Chic,TRex,Duran Duran) Bowies audience often dont realise though because he studies whats happening in rock n roll much closer than his audience.
And Led Zeppelin dont really exist in my universe I always thought they were a load of Tolkeinesque heavy metal shite for ten year olds.

Tolkeinesque heavy metal shite for ten year olds? Maybe so, but I still love 'em.
