I was flipping thru a box of LP's I was given and came upon Foreigner's "4" LP (the one w/ Juke Box Hero and Urgent). And who played the synths on URGENT? Fonfara!! NO!!!

I love the fact that Fernando Saunders played bass on the Jeff Beck/Jan Hammer Group album, one of the most pretentiously amazingly virtuoso jazz-rock fusion bands that ever played. If those guys hired Fernando, he must be one of the top bass players in the world, and obviously the music he was playing with that group was incredibly complicated. Ironic then that he soon ended up playing 3 chords for the rest of his career thanks to being picked up by Lou!

Ha Ha , cruel but true, Lou solo is the 3 chord wonder of all time, makes the Ramones sound like Mozart. I like Urgent, guilty pleasures, reminds me of teenage parties where as a punk the Foreigner fans always wanted to beat me up.

Let's all agree to never utter the words "jazz-rock fusion" ever again.
Ever.
Never ever again, okay?

Sorry, I just did (in the "speaking of Warhol" post). But it was in an anecdote.

I think that's (jazz) a very good (rock) idea and I shall (fusion) do my part.
