YES! YES! YES!
Announced in the newspapers today: May 11, 12, and 13... THREE dates in Finland! They'd only been announced up to May 9 (Stockholm, Sweden) on his site. And these are at proper concert halls too, no crappy festivals like last time (2000).
I'm excited beyond words. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
LOU, I LOVE YOU...!!
WOO-HOOOOO!

Thats cool that you don't have to go all the way to Sweden. I'm just hoping he announces a London gig because otherwise I'm going to have to go all the way up to Liverpool or Leicester(!) Why would Lou play Liverpool and Leicester and not London?? I don't understand
Maybe he's going to debut some new material at these gigs? We know he's working on a new record for his new record label...that would be a treat!

I'm in as long as he doesn't bring his animal serenade circus along and charge us 40 quid for the privelege!

He's skipping Belgium. And I just can't afford it to go to Amsterdam or Paris just for the concert, because it would mean at least 100 euros extra.
All in all, I'm pretty sad.

Can't find tickets for any of the UK shows on Ticketmaster...maybe they're not available yet...
So Jim-Jim: which part of the animal serenade circus do you find offensive? Master Ren and Antony I presume??

Well, blame it on the Raven I say. On its first play, I was completely shocked at how appalling it all was (the 2CD set, that is). Lou occasionally does so-so albums with a couple of good tracks on them (e.g Ecstasy), but never out & out awful albums...well, not lately. It is the least interesting album he's done since Mistrial and the worst since The Bells. It was boring, pretentious conceptional bullshit. Shame.
When I saw him on TOTP2 doing a few numbers with his new band, I thought what the f..? Why on earth is that guy doing Kung Fu moves during a song? Is he Lou's Bez?* I've nothing against Anthony. I'm sure he's a lovely guy but his voice.....sorry, I find it annoying in the context of Lou's rock&roll sensbilities. If he'd worked with, say, Kate Bush or Joni I could enjoy its phenomenal range. But Lou? No sir (could you please leave the stage to preserve Mr Reed's dignity?).
I'm sorry if this annoys some, but these last 2 years or so has for the first time since that debut play of my old VU&N LP, have made me embarrassed to be a Lou fan. I fully appreciate an artist needs to change direction and in doing so lose some fans but could this be one change too far for me? I hope not. Perhaps, he'll come back in 2005 with a kickass album on Sanctuary and bring back the true rock & roll poet in him that I worship.

Boy, I remember getting all kinds of verbal shit (even name calling) thrown at me on "old yellow" for posting similar sentiments... I've been scared to critisize the album ever since.
