i know he did some collaboration with a poetry/art group online... other than that, anyone know what's going on with him? does he still hang around the backstreets of new york feeling melancholy?

He signed a world-wide recording deal with Sanctuary (the world's largest independent record company and home to diehards such as Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Marillion, Morrissey and er... J.J. Cale). Other than that, I wouldn't know.
