I would like to check out a good bio on them, but thought I'd get some suggestions first. Any thoughts?

There is no definitive bio. Sterling was supposed to write one, but he left the project unfinished at his death. The closest things there are to one now are Up-tight by Victor Bockris and Gerard Malanga, but it's neither definitive nor strictly speaking a bio; and John Cale's autobiography What's Welsh for Zen?, co-written with Bockris, which has large chunks of Velvets info. Both books are not really objective, but who can be objective on such a subject?

You might, BTW, want to check out (I modestly suggest

) the Further Reading and Listening page on my VU website (see sig below), it has a section on recommended books.
