I would love to say Quine, but I feel that, other than the Blue Mask, Lou kept Quine in the background. I just dont have any good bootlegs of Quine goin' crazy. Can anyone recommend one? It is as if Lou kept Quine on a tight leash after Blue Mask was released.

I have to go with Heinrich. I have so many amazing concerts with him that I have no choice but to vote for him!

I think Moose Boles could almost qualify for this list! He played his bass like a 6-stringer and his bass took lead duties from Heinrich on a number of occasions.

Actually, I wanted to vote for Lou himself because he is a terrific lead guitarist in his own right. But I guess that Quine will do, too!

I voted for Quine because of his terrific work on The Blue Mask and A Night With Lou Reed (vhs, dvd). But I think Mark Ribot could easily be on the list: his guitar playing in a couple of bootlegs from 1992 is amazing.

I would have wanted to vote for Quine, but I really don't know his work with Lou apart from one viewing of the Night With video... so I voted for dependable Mike Rathke.

I think they are all GREAT! But I voted for Quine.

i liked neil lofgren's work on the bells. he was only on a couple tracks. but oh well.

In light of the scandalous abscence of Sterl, Quine.

I think Sterling would be pretty pissed (who knows, perhaps he's rolling in his grave) at someone who said he was LOU REED'S lead guitarist. Sterling was the lead guitarist for the Velvet Underground.
