Lou Reed - 2000-05-19 - Royal Albert Hall, London, England
Over the next few days, I'm going to be uploading a number of Lou Reed shows that I received during the old CDR snail mail trading days of the late '90s and early '00s. I haven't seen these shows make the rounds on the torrent sites and I'm hoping that it will spur others to dig into their Lou Reed collections and post some shows that have not widely circulated. Maybe even some uncirculated master recordings. I'm especially interested in shows from Lou's 1992 Magic & Loss tour. Specifically, I'm looking for his performance at Great Woods Performing Arts Center, Mansfield, MA (just outside of Boston) on May 24, 1992.
This is a great show from the Ecstasy tour. This is probably one of the strongest tours that Lou Reed has done. The shows were consistently excellent and most of the audience recordings were made by tapers who know how to get a great capture. Lou's lead playing on this tour is scorching and shows why he is one of rock's innovative guitar players. Play this one loud!!
