Lou Reed - 1998-06-05 - Brofastival, Malmo, Sweden
Over the next few days, I'm going to be uploading a number of Lou Reed shows that I received during the old CDR snail mail trading days of the late '90s and early '00s. I haven't seen these shows make the rounds on the torrent sites and I'm hoping that it will spur others to dig into their Lou Reed collections and post some shows that have not widely circulated. Maybe even some uncirculated master recordings. I'm especially interested in shows from Lou's 1992 Magic & Loss tour. Specifically, I'm looking for his performance at Great Woods Performing Arts Center, Mansfield, MA (just outside of Boston) on May 24, 1992.
1998 was a great year to see Lou Reed Live. The band is nice and tight as it was for the 1996 tour, but the music seems more forceful and urgent. A precursor to the Ecstasy tour that followed in 2000.
