Multitrack of VU&N Acetate, etc?!

Post by merseymale »

I understand the Warhol foundation has found the original multi track for the acetate of the first album if so what is going to happen with this is going to be part of an anniversary Release, next year, or something?

Also, now that technology's progressed to the point that a multi track can be made from practically anything, anyway, is there gonna be a serious cleanup of the VUback catalogue, Likely?

I recall, from the loaded sessions, there's pretty good song that was Marred by Sesnick 's Annoying cowbell AND That kick pedal squeek Through much of Live@Max's That would be fun too prune…

What's People's thoughts of all this, here?
Is it sacrilege? Is it taking technology too far for its own sake?

Love to hear ya thoughts....

I don't think it's a multitrack that the Warhol museum has? Just a tape source of the same mixes that are on the acetate? Either way, it would obviously be an upgrade for those tracks that only currently circulate from the acetate source.

It seems like Universal has multitracks for at least some of the Scepter tracks - hence the alternate mixes of Heroin, European Sun and ATP on the super deluxe set.
