About a week before 1966.Jan.13 performance at psychiatry society's annual dinner at Delmonico's Hotel, some fashion designers were invited to visit the Factory.
In the published articles I found the Velvet Underground and Warhol's plans for the upcoming performance are mentioned.

[Warhol] "I'm devoting myself to my underground movies."
Andy granted several of us fashion editors the pleasure of his company in his warehouse studio off NYC's Second Avenue. There were four friends of his in a sundry array. The one I thought might be a girl was a boy and they're all incognits under the name "Velvet Undergrounders," usually providing cacophony sounds for the underground movies.
If you're like I was, an underground movie is not made underground, but the results are excellent basement viewing.

As I wandered over by a dirty sink (decorated with an artificial pink carnation), another young man came up. "Andy's not here," he announced. And wandered off.
Soon three people came in. One had longish brown hair, the second had a brunette page boy and the third short red hair. Only the redhead turned out to be a girl. The one with the pageboy went over and put on the Tiajana Brass at full volume. The others slouched on the couches.

Something more important is in the offing, however. His next movie will be a full length film (an hour and 20 minutes) featuring live entertainment as the picture is run (the movies are shown at a private underground theater called the Cinematheque).
During the movie Edie Sedgwick, the dancing star of previous films, will perform, and so will the Velvet Undergrounds. The Velvet Undergrounds are a new rock and roll singing group composed of the three people collapsed on the coaches. Andy will be their sponsor.
As he sees it, this film is so promising, it may cause underground movies to come to the surface.
He also has another movie planned. A big group of psychiatrists convening in New York next week invited him to come and speak to them. "But I don't speak," he pointed out. "So I told them I would just come."
When he goes, he will make an underground movie of the psychiatrists.
"Do they know this?" I asked him.
"Oh, yes... uh, I think," he replied.
